Chocolate No Bake Cookies
1/2 c Butter 2 c Sugar 1/2 c Water 2 tb Cocoa 1/2 c Peanut butter 3 c Oatmeal or: 1 c Coconut
Mix butter, sugar, water and cocoa together, bring to a boil for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, oatmeal or coconut. Drop on wax paper and let harden.

Animal Cookies
1 1/2 c Powdered sugar 1 c Butter or margarine 1 Egg 1 ts Vanilla extract 1/2 ts Almond extract 2 1/2 c Flour 1 ts Baking soda 1 ts Cream of tartar
Mix powdered sugar, margarine, egg and vanilla and almond extract. Mix in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Divide dough into halves. Roll out 1/2 inch thick on a lightly floured, cloth-covered board. Cut the dough into animal shapes with cookie cutters or let children cut. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 7 to 10 minutes.
Serve for snack

Cookie on a Stick
1 1/2 c Sugar 3/4 c (1-1/2 sticks) Parkay Margarine 2 Eggs 1 1/2 ts Vanilla 3 c Flour 1 ts Calumet Baking Powder 1/2 ts Salt Red or Green food coloring Wooden sticks
Beat sugar and margarine until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients; mix well. Divide dough in half. Tint one half of dough with food coloring. Refrigerate all dough several hours or overnight. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Roll half of tinted dough to 1/4-inch thick 8-inch square on lightly floured wax paper. Repeat with half of untinted dough. Place one dough square on top of the other; roll up. Cut dough into 1/2-inch slices. Press and flatten each slice into 2-1/2-inch circles. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Slide stick into each cookie to center; gently press dough around stick. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool. Repeat with remaining dough.
Makes 2-1/2 to 3 dozen.

Cut-Out Sugar Cookies
2/3 c Butter Flavor Crisco 3/4 c Sugar 1 tb Milk PLUS 1 teaspoon milk 1 ts Vanilla 1 Egg 2 c Flour, all purpose 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Salt
Cream Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in egg.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Mix into creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate several hours to overnight.
Heat oven to 375 F.
Roll half the dough at a time to about 1/8 inch thickness on floured surface. Cut in desired shapes. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar and decors or leave plain to frost when cool.
Bake at 375 for 7 to 9 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove to cooling rack.
Makes 3 dozen cookies (Depending on size and shape ).

Monkey Cookies
2 1/4 c All-purpose flour; 2 ts Baking powder; 1/4 ts Salt; 1 c Sugar; 2/3 c Butter -=OR=- 2/3 c Margarine; softened 2 Eggs; 2 Bananas; mashed 1 ts Vanilla;
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well. Add butter or margarine. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake in a preheat, 400-degree oven 12 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen.

Paintbrush Cookies
1/3 c Shortening; soft 1/3 c Sugar 1 Egg 2/3 c Honey 2 3/4 c Flour 1 ts Baking soda 1 ts Salt
Egg yolk paint: 1 Egg yolk 1/4 ts Water Food coloring
Preheat oven to 375F. Roll out dough using floured pastry cloth. Roll to 1/4" thickness. Cut into different shapes using cookie cutters. Set on greased baking sheet. Paint designs with egg yolk paints. (Blend egg yolk and water. Divide among several custard cups. Add different food coloring to each cup. Paint designs using small paintbrushes. If egg yolk, thickens while standing, add few drops water.) Bake 8-10 minutes at 375F. For clear colors, do not let cookies brown. a recipe from my childhood.
MAKES: 5 DOZEN COOKIES

Peanut Butter Cookie Pops
1/2 c Butter or margarine 1/2 c Peanut butter 1/2 c Sugar 1/2 c Brown sugar 1 Egg 1/2 ts Vanilla 1 1/2 c All-purpose flour 3/4 ts Baking soda 1/4 ts Salt Wilton dark or light cocoa Flavored candy melts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Toss together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture. Shape dough into ball. Roll dough approximately 1/8 inch thick. Dip cutters into flour before each use. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool. Dip in chocolate or make peanut butter chocolate sandwiches. Makes 4 dozen
Place one or two wafers of candy melts on warm cookie. Sandwich two cookies together on lollipop stick.

Peanut Butter Teddy Bears
1 c Smooth peanut butter 1/4 c Honey 1/2 c Instant nonfat powdered milk Toothpick Green food coloring
In small mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, honey, and powdered milk. (If mixture is too sticky, add more powdered milk.) Break off marble-sized piece of mixture and roll into a ball for bear's head. Roll another ball about twice that size for his body and attach to head. Roll out 6 tiny balls and pinch flat. Attach to head for ears and body for arms and legs. Dip blunt end of toothpick into food coloring and paint on eyes, nose, mouth, and coat buttons. Place bear on wax paper-lined foil tray or pie pan until set. You should be able to make 7 or 8 bears from one batch.
